Different cultures commemorate their dead in a variety of ways. In Britain the majority of us stick to the traditional customs by planting a headstone or memorial where we can go to pay our respects. But within other cultures there is a much more celebratory attitude. Mexican Day of the Dead is one festival held every year, where friends and family gather in cemeteries and commemorate their dead by throwing a celebration.
Sophie Marsden attended the pop-up Graveland Exhibition in London which showcased a number of cemeteries around the world.
